Project 02: rethinking form and function

Project 02 is to explore and rethink form and function, using some of the techniques we learnt in the previous assignment and also learning some new things along the way.

I have chosen to apply this to the chair, which is defined as ‘a separate seat for one person, typically with a back and four legs’ . Chairs are something which has been around, more or less, since people, they may have not called them chairs back then but it is physically impossible for a person to stand all of the time. A chair can take many different shapes and sizes, and through the years many different types of chairs have been created, from thrones to sofas to sun beds. We have chairs with one, two, three, or four legs, chairs with or without arms, and chairs with or without backs. They have been created to be used for all sorts of different things and are constantly being reinvented and modified to be more modern and unique styles.
